Beyond The Ball has partnered with Big Thought to create a Summer Program through Beyond The Ball’s Sneaker Lab workshop series, providing youth with the opportunity to explore career pathways in science, math, Generative AI, 3D design, and sustainability within the sports industry and beyond. Students will engage in project-based ideation, positioning, and designing individual education and career maps while gaining professional skills in 3D and AI design, sustainable fashion engineering, and business planning. The program culminates in a Capstone Project, where students design AI fashion collections, develop sustainable manufacturing strategies, create pricing models, and prepare marketing plans, ultimately pitching and presenting their projects in a professional setting.

Expected Duration: 2 weeks

Criteria

  1. [required] In order to ear this badge, the learner had to actively engage in reflective writing about the skills practiced to deepen their understanding and evaluate their progress. This reflective writing must be uploaded to the SneakerLab.org portal before the final day of class.
  2. [required] In order to ear this badge, the learner had to participate in group discussions, presenting key points about the mastered skills to foster collaboration and reinforce understanding. These key points will be shared in front of the class and the Sneaker Lab Instructor (who will confirm accuracy).
  3. [required] In order to ear this badge, the learner had to demonstrate proficiency and professionalism during the final presentation, showcasing their acquired skills effectively. The presentation will be made using Canva. A share link of the final presentation pitch deck must be shared with the Beyond The Ball team. Additionally, there are other project deliverables (mood boards, designs, collections) that must also be uploaded to SneakerLab.org to count toward project completion.
