The YMCA Serving West Dallas formerly Lakewest Family YMCA was established in 2000 through a unique partnership between the YMCA and the Dallas Housing Authority, who shared a common vision of providing a community center in the heart of West Dallas. The YMCA Serving West Dallas is in collaboration with Head Start of Greater Dallas, Dallas Police Department and Parkland's Women Clinic which all share the property owned by Dallas Housing Authority. Today, YMCA Serving West Dallas members enjoy a variety of more than 20 programs for youth, adults, and teens. Through the generous contributions of the community and members to our Annual Campaign, the YMCA provided over 100,000 scholarships and financial assistance in 2019 to ensure that no one is turned away for their inability to pay for programs and services.
