F.O.R.T.E

Black Dynasty Drum line services dreamers in grades 6th-12th of all music levels. The Black Dynasty Drum line is a community-based ensemble that gives young percussionists the extra reinforcement they need to excel in collegiate percussion ensembles and professional musicians. Urban Dreams believes it is essential to expose our young percussionist to rigorous workshops facilitated by percussion alumni and instructors of Historically Black College and University Marching Bands In efforts to strengthen our dreamers as a percussionist and prepare them professional performance opportunities.

Students will engage with collegiate and professional percussionist to learn the FUN-DRUM-MENTALS of being a percussionist. We will cover topics such as basic percussion fundamentals, music theory, rudiments, grips, music dynamics, terminology, and composition. Students will learn everything they need to be successful in a standard marching drumline. The curriculum encompasses professional level percussion methods and skills delivered in person and through a video tutorial library.
