Attitude of Gratitude (SEL Self Awareness, Relationship Skills)

Epic Domain

With this activity, each student will be given fun colorful exercises and journaling worksheets concerning what it means to be grateful, why it's important to have an attitude of gratitude and how to share their gratitude with others!

We teach students how gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity and build strong relationships.

Gratitude is an emotion similar to appreciation, and research has found neurological reasons why so many people can benefit from this general practice of expressing thanks for our lives, even in times of challenge and change.

There are many synonyms of gratitude, including:

acknowledgment;

appreciativeness;

gratefulness;

recognition;

thankfulness etc.

We will walk through the worksheets together, allowing each student to share their observations or findings and watch supporting videos from YouTube when needed. This is a class where your child is being asked to share their individual ideas and give reason for their explanations or supporting evidence.

This activity culminates with each child creating their very own decorative "Gratitude Jar" and will be able to share their feelings of gratitude and show gratitude for each other!
