OPTIONS: 231
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
OPTIONS: 231 is designed to tackle the multifaceted challenges that young people face as they transition from adolescence to adulthood. Many students, particularly those from underserved communities, lack access to high-quality career preparation and life skills training. This gap often leads to lower academic achievement, diminished career prospects, and limited opportunities for personal growth.
Our program addresses these challenges through a structured approach that integrates skill-building workshops, personalized mentorship, entrepreneurship training, and practical work experiences. By focusing on both immediate and long-term needs, OPTIONS: 231 Project aims to create a supportive environment where young people can explore their potential and develop the competencies required for future success.
Our organization, 30~TalkCares, adopts a holistic and multifaceted approach to addressing the problem of inadequate life and career preparation among youth ages 16-24. Our strategy involves: OPTIONS: 231
Comprehensive Skill Development: We offer a range of workshops and activities designed to build essential life skills, including financial literacy, resume writing, job interviewing, and public speaking. These workshops are tailored to be engaging and interactive, ensuring that participants not only learn but also apply these skills in real-world scenarios. Mentorship and Networking: We connect participants with industry professionals who provide one-on-one mentorship. This personal guidance helps students navigate career choices, develop professional skills, and expand their networks. Regular networking events are also held to facilitate connections between youth and professionals. Entrepreneurship Opportunities: Through our entrepreneurship bootcamp, we encourage students to develop their own business ideas. Participants receive training in business planning, marketing, and pitching. This hands-on experience fosters creativity and innovation, empowering them to start their own ventures. Practical Experience: We arrange internships and job-shadowing opportunities that give students real-world experience in various fields. This practical exposure helps them understand the demands and opportunities in different careers, enhancing their readiness for the workforce.
