The Cats in Krasinski Square is set in the World War II time period. During World War II, people would sometimes have to move homes quickly. In this activity, you will create a shoebox that represents what you would take in a hurry.

Recommended supplies: old magazines, glue, scissors, tape, construction paper, yarn, old newspapers, shoebox with lid, ribbons, glitter, rocks, tiny bells

• Start out with a shoebox. Gather materials, cut-out pictures from magazines, crumpled-up newspaper, rocks, tiny bells, and yarn.
• Arrange these materials however you want in and outside of the shoebox to represent what you would take in a hurry.
• There is no right or wrong, imagination is the key to this activity! When you are done, share your shoebox with a friend or family member.
